  • Wprobe and horst: log file with the values
  • Prepare the batteries and measure them with a multimeter

  • before noon: install powercables (foam, imal, mort&vif)
  • early afternoon: have a trip to hsb
    • antenna-foo (the omni, panel, different pigtails,..)
    • asus adapters or what's left from it, lab-power supply
    • ethernet cables -- the really long ones will serve well, we'll also need 4x5m
    • battery packs if we find some
    • toiletpaper
    • pot of honey
  • have a run to ELAK
    • batteries, battery packs
    • US-EURO plug converters (at least 42)
    • DYMO refill

[edit] Workflow

  • there's a machine running theWbm2009v2/ConfigExpectScript-- it needs to be fed with foneras, 'flashing' them with new firmware
  • These clean fonera's go into the Wbm2009v2/NodeConfigurationFactory, where they are configured according to scripts & configuration-parameters (scripts are developed friday-evening and saturday, join in !)
  • the nodes are taken outside for the tests
  • if you configured logging, you got something to investigate after the test (we still need to setup our logging infrastructure --think syslog-ng--, if you feel like helping out, come friday-afternoon)
  • document your configuration,scripts, and tests (even non-successfull, mere ideas, etc)


  • of course multiple tests can take place at the same time, just depends how many people we are !
  • if you feel like developing some testcases & run around with your nodes... better come over
  • or replaying existing test scripts


if it rains: we do a great hackaton on

  • User Mode Linux : run OpenWRT in a virtual machine (configuring, porting Nico's config tool, trying to get the python hook into uml_switch to work)
  • playing around with test-scripts for inside use (eg. using the fonera gpio to give user feedback (leds!), non-symmetric links (lowering transmit power), etc.) -- yeehaw!
